One Christmas Wish hits the road

The Palace used for One Christmas Wish

Our immersive adaptation of Katherine Rundell’s One Christmas Wish will tour to communities in East and South London this December, in our mobile venue The Palace. Anna Wheatley, writer for theatre and Head of Stories at >now>press>play has done a stellar job of placing us, the audience, at the heart of the story, as we go on the same adventure as young Theo in the original.

Big props to set designer and builder Emily Harwood for inaugurating The Palace with a stunning design, and to sound designer and composer Tim Bamber, and lighting designer Alex Fernandes for breathing life into the immersive space. Our actors are Adam Robertson, Sara Bahadouri and Remy Miller multi-roling a truly magical array of characters, with our very own Gary Holness building and contributing additional design, and Jo Tyabji directing. Illustrator Louise Mulcahy created this gorgeous image.

Partnering with The Royal Docks and London Borough of Merton, we’ll be visiting hyper-local sites across under-served neighbourhoods. The show is powered by lithium batteries so we’re self-sufficient, and can pop up pretty much anywhere. We’ll be counting our carbon as we tow, to support our work to eliminate it entirely from our touring.

Funded by Arts Council England, London Borough of Merton, and the GLA.
